  1. I do not feel like my grandson is being served to suit his needs. He received exceptional learning services because he did not get a good foundation for reading in the first grade. Second grade, he qualified for services in February, 2024. I sent a parent letter prior to Christmas break expressing our concerns like: all grades in the computer are test grades, homework is graded and not accepted late >>>>zero if one day late, needs additional support in math due to multi-step word problems, I-ready reading score increased 6 points in one year, failing grade in ELA due to 3 zeros for homework, 4 question tests, multiple accommodations given but no data to show remediation/reteaching was given prior to the test, homework over material not discussed in class, 20 spelling words and 10 vocabulary words given on Monday and test on Friday of the same week...... I have requested baseline data, current data, work samples with teacher commentary, copious notes on observations, progress monitoring data, genre, and artifacts, data on meeting his IEP goals for reading and comprehension questions 3 out of 5 tries, percentage accuracy for each reading and decoding goal..... I want to make sure I am prepared before and during the IEP meeting that was requested 12/22/24 but not scheduled yet. At this point, I feel like the system is pretty much going through the motions and not providing my grandson with the "toolbox strategies" as they promised during the eligibility meeting. Since the school is not meeting his need, I would like for Linda Mood-Bell Learning Processes center (research based organization>>tons of it) to serve my grandson with what he needs, and the school system pay for those services. What should I include in the letter to the IEP team to make sure my grandson receives the services that he needs? He is in the third grade, which is a pivotal time in elementary school. He dislikes school and detests reading. Please help me.
