Does This IEP Make Sense? What should I ask for?

I’m transferring states with an IEP that works already in place. In VA, my son is in an inclusion classroom with the general education teacher and special education teacher with 30 minute pull outs for math daily and 15 minutes for ELA with the same SPED teacher in his classroom. We are moving to WV and I have a parent meeting tomorrow with the principal to discuss placement. I obviously want as close to this placement as possible however I don’t think they offer inclusion classrooms. We are requesting an immediate IEP meeting via a Parent Concerns letter. We have asked for a 1:1 and used past documentation from previous IEPs, school evaluations, and our repeated request for a 1:1. What if the school says, "My child is diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, therefore she will take too much time meeting the requirements to graduate kindergarten and further grades." I know this is illegal, but I really need a good response to something like that and am not sure what that should be.

I attached a copy of the parent concerns letter that we will be sending to my grand-daughter's IEP team over the weekend. We are asking for a 1 on 1 paraprofessional educator and a few other things in the letter. I am new to the state of Arizona and looking to connect with other parents who have students with IEPs in public school in the state of Arizona. I am looking for support/advice around holding a school accountable for executing IEP accommodations and for acknowledging "invisible" disabilities.

Has anyone successfully added "Supports for School Personnel and Parent Training" to thier child's IEP? If so, I am interested to learn more about how you negotiated with any IEP Teams unwilling to add these supports. My child has an ADHD diagnosis, PTSD diagnosis (this child and thier siblings were adopted from the foster care system and has a history of trauma), dysgraphia, an auditory processing disorder, and an autoimmune disorder. First, I must say that A Day in Our Shoes has been my lifeline and enabled me to get IEE’s for both of my kiddos as well as compensatory services that have finally started. Unfortunately, our district, and SELPA in California are shameless. (Paid out $46 million to twins with special needs a few months ago). In California can a district change the school site without parent consent. We finished our annual iep end of march. My child school remained same for the coming school year. It’s a k-3 structure learning class. We received a letter a week ago stating that my child is assigned to a different school site. There was no further explanation. I had disagreements before finalizing the previous iep. We had to complain about the program manager as she was rude and disrespectful towards us. I am worried about this letter. My child teacher is great and this school site she made great progress. Please help with any suggestions.

I requested an IEE in May and was approved. Received, signed and sent the NOREP 3 days later. Also provided the name of the neuropsychologist I chose, who is also a licensed school psychologist (should be no issues with credentials and this provider did a previous, well-received evaluation on my grandson) A week later I scheduled an evaluation with my chosen provider and asked them to draw up a contract for the school district. The LEA has not yet responded to or signed the contract. Did I jump the gun? Was I supposed to wait for approval? Or is this just because it’s summer and people not available to respond to emails?

Hi all! My son is utilizing ABA therapy this summer due to behavioral issues at home as well as school. He will be continuing ABA therapy clinic hours once school starts, but his ABA therapist would like to work with him at school (apparently she has provided ABA therapy to other kiddos in our state at school with positive results) as well as she feels his BIP is not sufficient and she feels she can better help him “in the moment” during school hours to provide him with the behavioral support he needs. My 8 year old daughter completed 2nd grade this past school year and will be starting 3rd grade in August 2023. She has always enjoyed going to school but her behavior towards school this past school year changed in a negative way. My daughter would almost be in tears in the morning while getting ready for school because she didn't want to be at school all day. What can I do if my family had been retaliated against after stating I'll have to call the State if my child's IEP isn't meet. This has been going on since my child was in grade school. They have tried to punish twice. Once with tring to take my child's IEP away and now she's in HS and now it's truancy and treating with Court.

We had an IEP revision meeting where multiple things were discussed with a consultant adding what should be occurring with my son, 1.5 months from graduation mind you, but the school has consistently refused to include the consultants input in the IEP document for the past year they have been paying her. She has in that time raised several strategies that no one does, it's not in the IEP. She actually asked if her recommendations were included in the plan, or any addendum written. (Answer is no). My daughters (6th grade) math ICT has been monitoring her progress with her modified classroom test or classroom lesson work book pages. She can’t say what pages she used on the days that she did the trials and can’t tell me when she used the test to monitor either. So I have no work samples from the trial dates. I have a very basic report with no details at all of how she did or what she did, just the typical 3 or of 5, 4 out of 5 and so on. Hi, I'm trying to determine the best path forward for my child. He has had an IEP for 2 years, was evaluated to enter Kindergarten in Sept 22, but due to delays and a birthday just a few days before the cutoff, we opted to pull him out of the district and into a private preschool program. Hello all! My son has had a 504 for a few years now. It was clear that he needed to move to an IEP. Had the new evaluation, meeting, all agreed. Done. I just got the copy of the IEP that was created to sign. But, there were only 2 Social/Emotional Goals on there. Very apparent that there needed to be focus/attention/organization goals. I sent an email to the school with specifics - goals I wanted added and accommodations to go along with it. Am I following protocol? Based on my request, can these goals be added? My child is an alternate curriculum student receiving inclusion support in a jr. high in California. Alternate curriculum students normally have 2 options: either be in a general ed. full time with 3-5hrs/week of inclusion support OR be in a autism alternate class (the only alternate curriculum class offered in SDC in CA). I feel like this should be a simple answer, but I'm not finding one. My son got his first IEP in January 2022. We had our annual meeting in January 2023 and have been going back and forth via email since then. I haven't signed the revised IEP yet. One of the issues I emailed the SPED director about is that I am now noticing some issues with some of his goals from last year. These are goals that were in his IEP last year but have not been met yet. Is there a way to make changes to them now despite them being last year's goals?
